Laser Junior Sailing Program
Graduating from the Optimist, FAST sailors continue to hone their single-handed sailing skills and one-design racing skills in the Laser. Recognizing that the same boat is not well-suited to everyone, the Laser has evolved over the years into three separate classes:
- Standard
- Radial
- 4.7
In each case, the hull is identical and only the bottom mast section and the sail are changed to create a completely new class.
Fast provides both:
- development program for sailors transitioning from the Optimist to the Laser 4.7
- advanced program for laser sailors in the Radial and Standard rig
Fast Laser sailors receive top level coaching at Fast clinics and the opportunity to prepare for and compete at regattas such as Nationals, North Americans, ACCs, CORK and U.S. Sailing events (Youth Champs, Smythe, Leiter), as well as at local and regional regattas.
